Our Story

I still spent much time with my hands in dirt, but by fifteen, this tomboy was already working in the fashion industry. These were the days when the Mall was the happening place to be and working with clothing gave endless supplies of the must have threads.

I started at the bottom, of course, selling fantastic plastic cards and building wardrobes for the trendy teens. Through the years I grew into high end and luxury businesses housing anything from Lux gowns, to exquisite handbags. As I moved up, I  began training teams to focus on client relations and creating an experience not a service. I supported buys and projected needs / hot items for following years.

MY TRUE PASSION

My true passion has always been styling–which can be individualized based on the individual. I love mixing patterns or a minor accessory that ties an outfit together. To this day I still adjust some of my private clients' wardrobes, working with college students, executives, and professional athletes as well as local and national celebrities.

Over the years I have become adept at  identifying trends, finding the beauty in textiles, and appreciation for simplistic color blocks or intricate prints.

I have learned that true style must be both ‘of the moment’ and classic enough to stand the test of time.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

What happens when you combine an outdoorsy girl and fashion? You can get anything from a retro dress with cowboy boots to jeans and sandals. You get a cheerleader that supports someone's own vision and is happy to just tweak the one thing that you may not have thought of. The possibilities are endless and styling doesn't have creative restrictions; there are no wrongs if it's one's own personal style..

While I enjoy small luxuries as much as anyone, I still feel most happy in natural and organic looks that can easily be styled several ways. Not only do I want people to look good but most importantly to feel good. Even in a dress I personally still love a little dirt on my boots!

After years of working for established firms and teaching their employees how to create an excellent client experience, I have decided to take a universe-sized leap of faith and offer my expertise directly to clients through The Druzy Rose, an online boutique.

WHY GO IT ALONE?

Working for well-known brands, I found that at times I was asked to put the welfare of the company before my own, before that of team members, and some of the time, even before customers.  My passion in the simple touches and creating smiles from someone feeling better about themselves was, being drowned out by the pressure to please corporate big wigs more interested in their bottom line than in the service they provided.

After years of juggling 60+ hour work weeks, motherhood (yup, four of them) and trying to find my inner smile I took a pause.

As I sat in the grass on my first few days of nothing to do, I  dug my barefeet into the fresh garden and lounged in my favorite orange dress. I don’t know if a light bulb went off or if I just got too much sun, but the gears in my brain gears started humming. What if I could do what I loved in a way I loved?

WHY DRUZY?

So I had a vision of what I could offer, I could create a business with items that make you feel good, inspire a positive mind, body, and soul. Styling with simple yet on trend items that work for all demographics and would stand the test of time. Doing this with the care and passion of a one-on-one feel, yet the convenience of the internet shopping model.

But what to call it?  After listening to me giggling about my love for being barefoot, my inner hippie, and my passion for the unusual, a close friend mentioned the name druzy.  Sure …they’re the sparkly, tiny crystals that make geodes glitter and I do love shiny, beautiful things. But the legends behind druzy are what connected with my vision for work.

Druzy is believed to be associated with peace, tranquility, patience, intuition, and unconditional love. The crystals are thought to amplify the body's natural healing properties and strengthen the spirit. They are also believed to contribute to emotional  balance, warding off depression and feelings of fear or dread.  I love Rose Quartz stones above all and with that it felt like a sign, and The Druzy Rose was born.
